At Transform Lives Company (TLC), we know that supporting people into meaningful work is about more than just employment—it’s about confidence, wellbeing, and self-belief. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Mel Richards
to the team, bringing 16 years of experience in helping people navigate barriers to work.
A Passion for Helping People Thrive
Mel has dedicated her career to supporting young people and adults into education, employment, and training. Whether it’s mental health challenges, family support needs, low self-esteem, or navigating life post-offending, she’s been there—helping people move forward.
"I already knew Bev, and she told me how TLC looked after people and their staff. I thought—I wouldn’t mind a bit of that!"
Now, at TLC, Mel is excited to work with people of all ages, particularly those who might not have had the chance to access employment support before.
Breaking Down Barriers to Work
For many of the people Mel supports, anxiety and depression can make finding work feel overwhelming. Her focus? Building confidence through 1-2-1 sessions, self-care strategies, and local community support—helping people see their strengths and take positive steps.
"I'm not here to force anyone into work—I'm here to show them the paths they can take."
From group activities like walks and vision boards to volunteering and education opportunities, Mel is passionate about helping people find what works for them.
A Track Record of Transforming Lives
One of Mel’s proudest successes was supporting a young man with autism who struggled with communication and new environments. Through weekly meetings, confidence-building activities, and a structured support plan, he built the self-belief to apply for jobs, attend interviews, and secure work—and years later, they still keep in touch!
What’s Next?
In her first six months, Mel hopes to build trust, encourage self-belief, and create strong partnerships—helping people see their potential and take the next step in their journey.
"At TLC, it’s not just about employment—it’s about people. We care, we empower, and we make sure no one is just a number."
