Thursday 10th March, was a good day. After a long half term and what felt like an eternity of bad weather, I was desperate for some adult conversation
so I headed off to Sefton Park to join one of our open net-walking groups. Although the weather wasn’t great, I was thrilled to be met by Carmen and Adele. We had a short 20 minute stroll and because of the poor weather we popped into the cafe for a cuppa and discussed the emotional rollercoaster that is menopause.
Menopause can be a time of high emotion, your body is being flooded with hormones and you may not feel like yourself and that is completely ok! Being around like minded people, sharing your experiences, or simply just listening and relating may help you realise that everything you are feeling is completely natural.
I am very grateful to be able to meet so many wonderful women and gain knowledge from listening to their experiences. It’s such a comfort knowing you will never have to go through this challenging stage of life alone. There is a whole community of people who want to break the stigma that surrounds menopause and help women to feel empowered by how much our bodies are capable of going through. Let's end the shame and take control of our health!
If you are feeling the effects of menopause or are curious to learn more, I encourage you to join us, as we move more to feel better. Please email
