Transform Lives Company & CleanEvent Help 14 Jobseekers Gain Employment - Grand National Recruitment Event

Transform Lives and CleanEvent – Grand National recruitment event Feb 2026

Flash back to February 2024 and an idea between Transform Lives Company (TLC) and CleanEvent on how they could support our employability programmes to help our participants get back into meaningful employment and our ‘Grand National recruitment day’ was born.

We took  7 of our participants along to Aintree racecourse to find out more about the festival and the roles available. All 7 were offered positions which gave them up to date work experience, from a prestigious event to add to their CV which opened doors for all of them.

Building on the success from last year, we took 14 participants along to Aintree Racecourse for the event, hosted by CleanEvent. Venue Presentation Manager for the racecourse, Mark Dulson welcomed our participants and gave an overview of what the roles entailed and his own experience in the company. HR Director to People and Safety Director Gillian Haley talked about the people side of the company and opportunities. Corey Watts supported our participants with the application process and gave his own inspiring story of his CleanEvent journey from cleaner to people safety co-Ordinator.

Mark then took the participants on a tour of the racecourse, showing them  where they would sign in on their first day and where they would collect uniform from. For our participants who have been out of employment for a while or haven’t worked at all this helps to ease those first day nerves and build confidence. He said, ‘It’s been a fantastic day and so pleasing to see twice the amount of people from last year. For me personally, it’s rewarding being able to offer work to so many local people. Something CleanEvent pride themselves on. The partnership is  growing from strength to strength and I’m excited to see how we can build on this.’

CleanEvent offer our participants the TLC guaranteed interview scheme so all participants attending today knew they would get an interview. This removes a huge barrier for our participants who have been discouraged previously by applying for roles and never hearing anything back. The guaranteed interview process takes away that anxiety.

Our participants wearing CleanEvent hi-vis jackets on the tour made them feel the part,  and we could certainly see the impact it had putting on part of the uniform. They were laughing, building relationships with each other, asking questions, being completely motivated and engaged. Everything an employer wants to see.

Holding an event like this with the employer gives our participants an opportunity to experience the working environment, get a feel for the company and ask questions in a relaxed environment, as this feedback from one of our participants shows.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience with CleanEvent! Right from the start, getting to know the company and the different positions available, all the way to the extremely useful Q&A at the end. This recruitment event has inspired much confidence in me and has made me hopeful for my future and the skills I will learn!"

Bev Dulson, Project Manager from TLC said, ‘Having a day like this where our participants get to experience real life work environments and opportunities is invaluable. We are very grateful to CleanEvent for offering their time and support to this recruitment event and our participants. For us, to see our participants excited and motivated for the future is why we do what we do, thank you for helping us to make this happen.
