My Journey So Far
My employment background spans over 20 years. I began in the NHS, supporting people with advice and signposting, and later moved into training roles, working with diverse communities in Liverpool and Derby. I’m excited to join TLC and continue supporting people. I look forward to meeting new faces and reconnecting with those who have supported me along the way.
Why I Love This Work
I enjoy interacting with people and learning new approaches. Over the years, I’ve seen the challenges people face when finding work, and I believe employment should be a lifestyle, not just a job. Listening and supporting creates inclusion for everyone—including me—and helps us understand needs and find a way forward.
One of my proudest moments was during my time at YMCA in Derby. A grandmother called to thank me because her grandson had turned his life around and was now on a positive path with a future in work. Moments like that remind me why this work matters.
Looking Ahead
The next six months will be about meeting new people, learning new things, and tackling challenges positively. I know TLC will support me through this journey, and together we can continue making a difference in the community.
A Little About Me
Liverpool is full of history and opportunities. It’s a city where you can ask for directions and someone will gladly help. The best advice I’ve ever received? Find yourself and stay positive—even when it feels impossible.
To relax, I spend time gardening, creating a space to sit, listen to birds, and watch squirrels. Life moves quickly, and it’s important to be part of it.
