Role description
The role will involve proactive support for the SVUK Advocacy Team, which is responsible for spreading awareness about Social Value UK and its mission. This position is marketing-focused, with duties ranging from graphic-design to comms planning and content creation for blogs and newsletters.
The role will report into the Chief Executive.
Main duties and responsibilities
Conduct basic policy research and analysis, to prepare briefings for SVUK advocates attending meetings, speaking events etc.
Assist with preparing monthly marketing comms plan Gather info/collate info from SVUK team and members to write monthly Newsletter for 2100+ subscribers Regularly produce interesting and relevant blog content that aligns with SVUK's mission Create Practitioner and Pioneer announcements using interview answers/headshots & logo. Send individual an email when their post is live Edit team videos (adding logo and subtitles) and upload to Vimeo
Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database
Social Media
Assist with preparing monthly social media comms plan Create graphics for: events promo blog posts speaker graphics Power Point slides e-signatures newsletter banners e-series technical papers/documents brochures Instagram posts Practitioner & Pioneer announcements Regularly schedule content on: Twitter LinkedIn and Instagram Monitor comments and engage with members of the public on: Twitter LinkedIn and Instagram Website Upload monthly newsletters Add new members to the website Upload and format internal team SVUK blogs Maintain and regularly update the event, training and webinar pages on the Social Value website
Skills & knowledge
Ability to prioritise workload to ensure that member support tasks are fulfilled when working within a busy team environment Efficient and calm when working under pressure on a variety of tasks simultaneously, to tight deadlines.
Ability to solve problems constructively and propose practical ways ahead when faced with difficulties Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including accurate use of English and the ability to proof materials for sense and accuracy.
IT literacy – knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential for producing reports, schedules and presentations, and online meeting platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
Knowledge of working with databases or CRM systems is highly desirable.
An understanding of tools such as Campaign Monitor, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva and Eventbrite is desirable but not essential.
Experience of website management would be beneficial but not essential Personal qualities
