Job summary

Assistant landscape designer in a growing practice with good art and design skills and an interest in working with communities and to improve the environment in which we live.  Ideally the candidate should be on an existing design course and seeking some experience in practice, but it is not essential. We will teach you what you need to know, and the programmes you need to use to be a landscape architect.  Although the initial position is set for just 6 months, a candidate that embraces the role and makes themselves invaluable to the business will potentially be offered a longer permanent position.  We are happy if the candidate wants to work remotely after they have learnt our CAD package, Vectorworks.

Skills, experience and qualifications

We are a small team looking for a creative individual who cares about the environment.  It is important to us that we all enjoy coming to work and  have a professional, mature attitude  and a cooperative ‘can-do’ personality. The candidate must have the ability to take ownership of their duties and lead others to ensure that tasks are completed as and when required. You will be responsible for speaking to clients, meeting guests and in telling other members of staff to complete various administration duties and so must have the confidence in speaking to others, and reflecting the business in a positive way. Written and verbal communication skills are therefore essential. Computer skills on PC’s and in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel etc) are essential.  Training in further bespoke programmes will be provided.
