Job Specification 

Main Duties

Sitting within the Quality Team at Open Awards the role of Remote Invigilator involves the one to one invigilation of Functional Skills assessments remotely (i.e. using Zoom to monitor a learner in a different location). You will provide support to the learner before, during and after their assessment session and with the support of colleagues problem solve to deal with any issues that may arise during an assessment. A short report for each assessment will be completed to document if any issues arose. Training and standardisation activities will be part of the role as well as contributing to quality assurance activities and supporting the administration of the remote invigilation process as required.

Communication and problem solving skills will be developed as well as IT and administrative skills. The young person will be able to work unsupervised and build relationships as part of a team.

This role requires a quiet place to work from where you will not be interrupted or overheard by any other person. IT equipment will be provided but a good wifi signal is essential.


Essential Skills

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and confident in using technology for communicating (e.g. video-call and conference-call software).
Attention to detail and focus are an important together with problem-solving skills.
Understanding of data protection procedures and the importance of maintaining confidentiality although training will be given.
