The role of Communications & Data Assistant is to support the internal and external marketing and data collection for Baltic Creative CIC. You are expected to work to tight but achievable deadlines and support Alison James directly (the Marketing & Events Officer).

As a member of staff at Baltic Creative CIC, we expect that you will take responsibility for yourself and perform your duties to a high standard in terms of quantity and quality whatever you do in the role. Our strong commitment to customer service means that as a member of the team, you are expected to undertake any reasonable task that supports this and to actively contribute to improving our services.

In return, you will be supported by Alison through daily supervision and support, listening, induction training, further training and development and the best resources that we are able to provide to help you give your best.

You will support Alison in the day to day delivery of all 'communications' for the business and will also assist in data collection and admin. The role will be varied and will change from day to day.

Outline of the daily tasks:


Assist Alison in communicating with all tenants, contractors and stakeholders of Baltic Creative CIC.

Support the tenants at Baltic Creative by marketing their work

Help develop and produce copy and photography for PR and social media

Schedule engaging and meaningful content for BC social channels, newsletters and outlets

Help Alison market Baltic Creative to sustain existing tenants and attract new tenants that enhance our portfolio.

Provide quality customer care and services that distinguishes Baltic Creative as the destination landlord for Creative and Digital Businesses.

Support Alison in the development of relationships with educators in order to identify support for tenants

Assist Alison with the delivery of all on-line and in-person events, socials and businesses support activity including health & wellbeing sessions.


Assist Alison in maintaining and updating information and data on the company website.

Contribute to, develop and maintain systems to effectively deal with customer suggestions, compliments and complaints.

Help maintain and update mailing lists for both contacts and media.

You will help to maintain general admin records.

You will help to collate data where applicable at the organisation



Teamwork - A key skill required for this role is being able to work as part of a team. You must be able to listen, learn and work with others to ensure our work is delivered efficiently and to the standard required. Supporting your colleagues and working together is key at our organisation.

Working on your own - Working on your own is also a key skill too. You should be able to take instruction and work on your own initiative to complete tasks timely and to the high standard when required.

Communication – you will need great verbal and written communication skills in this role. Being able to listen and communicate is vital. Communicating well in person, on the phone and via email is essential. A really important skill is the ability to listen and digest instruction whilst being willing to contribute and share your ideas. Also, the ability to ask questions is really important.

Practical Experience Some practical work experience might be useful working in a public facing role - cafe, bar, fast-food outlet, trade counter, etc. Equally any experience of working with Creative and Digital businesses or experience working in / on social media channels / accounts or evidencing an interest in communications or data management would be advantageous.

Education - Educated to A level again would be advantageous but again is not essential. Being computer literate is important and experience of apple products would be particularly useful as our business uses these products extensively.

Your commitment and enthusiasm for the role evidenced by some work experience (paid or voluntary) you've completed on social media, press releases or event management is desirable.
