TLC’s Projects

At TLC, we are known for our extensive experience in creating and mobilising projects of various scale and complexity.

Whether you want us to add capacity to what you do, or you want us to come and design from scratch… we’re happy to discuss what works best.

 @ The University of Liverpool

It all started here, with 12 volunteers recruited from across the City placed in a small number of departments in the University.

The word spread and we now have volunteers right across the campus in facilities management, careers guidance, finance, animal care, events, music, science and admin to name just a few. As an extra bonus Volunteers get free access to the University sports facilities and are guaranteed interviews for certain job vacancies.

We train staff to be mentors to our volunteers, they love giving their time to help people achieve their goals. We benefit from using their state of the art training facilities and we know having the University of Liverpool on your CV reallgets the attention of employers. A number of of GiveGetGo volunteers are now happy working at the University in roles including grounds maintenance, security, cleaning and admin.

 @ Speke Hall

In complete contrast to our other venues our partnership with the National Trust brings GiveGetGo into a 400 year old, Tudor, timber framed Manor house. Here our volunteers buddy up with the existing team of volunteers and learn from their years of professional and volunteering experience.

There are loads of opportunities for people who enjoy the outdoors including volunteering with the rangers and gardeners. Volunteers are also supporting the catering, retail and front of house teams gaining invaluable customer facing experience dealing with the many visitors to the Hall.

Our volunteers here mainly come from the local Speke area and develop a real connection with the place, many have stayed on as volunteers even once they’ve found employment which is a win:win all round. Volunteers from Speke Hall have found work with companies such as Mersey Rail and Sports Direct.

 @ Everton in the Community

Inevitably, volunteering at  Everton FC is always popular with the blue side of city but they’re popular with the reds and non-footie fans too!

There’s always something going on at the Club making it a really exciting place to be- you never know who you’re going to bump into. We link up with the EITC team of volunteers and opportunities range from  fundraising, coaching, media and admin to  working with elderly people in the local community. There are always extra events for our GiveGetGo volunteers  to get involved in like match day fundraising which all adds to their confidence and experience to shout about on their CV.

Participants have gone on to find work in teaching, care and security as well as staying on as part of the wider Everton volunteer community.
